Teenager among three killed in Laventille

Violence in East Port of Spain continues as a teenager and two others were shot and killed on Sunday night.

According to reports, 16-year-old Salem Peters, who was said to be a student of Servol, was shot several times in the chest while he was with a group which was playing cards along the roadway in Eastern Quarry, Laventille.

He died while undergoing treatment.

Also killed were 37-year-old Damian Granger and 30-year-old Shermarke Wickham of Eastern Quarry, Laventille.

Police officers were told that the trio was liming with a group along the roadway, when around 11.05 pm, a black Nissan Tiida pulled up alongside them.

Shots were heard and the vehicle was then seen speeding away.

In the aftermath, four persons were shot - 40-year-old Jason Prince was injured in the right leg and rushed to hospital, however, the three other victims succumbed to their injuries. 

Prince was warded at the Port of Spain General Hospital in a serious but stable condition up to Monday morning.
