Teenager in court for murder of Biche man
A 17-year-old young man was scheduled to appear before a Rio Claro Magistrate on Thursday, charged with the murder of 44-year-old Raffick Hosein.
The accused, police said, has addresses in Diego Martin and St James.
He was held within an hour of Hosein's death on November 28, 2019.
According to police reports, around 3.30 pm that day, a lone assailant came in at Hosein’s home along Fitts Road, Biche, and shot him multiple times.
Hosein died on the scene.
Residents of the area heard the explosions and notified police.
Patrols who were in the area at the time responded quickly.
They observed the teenager in the area, and upon seeing the officers the teen begun to act in a suspicious manner.
This roused the attention of the lawmen and the teenager was searched.
At the time, nothing illegal was found on his person.
However, a gun, suspected to be the murder weapon, was found close to where the teenager was held.
Hosein was killed mere weeks after leaving a safe house.
He was a state witness in a double homicide, which was before the courts.
More on this as it becomes available.
