Teenager denied bail after allegedly shooting relative

A 17-year-old boy has been denied bail after appearing before the courts on charges of firearm possession and wounding with intent.

The teenager cannot be named because he is legally a minor.

He was charged by Sgt Ammon of the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court.

The teenager was detained on August 1, following an investigation of a shooting incident on June 16.

The victim of that report was shot multiple times about the body and was hospitalised for several weeks.

He survived the incident and has since been released from the hospital, following intensive treatment.

More on this as it becomes available.
