Teenager held in connection with mini-mart robbery

A 15-year-old teenager and 20-year-old man have been detained by police in connection with a mini-mart robbery in Matura.

According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the two were arrested by officers of the Matura Police Station in connection with a shop breaking and larceny of a mini-mart along the Toco Main Road, Matura, on August 18, 2018.

Police said officers were responding to a call when they caught the two suspects while still in the mini-mart.

The two, who were reportedly carrying bags filled with several items stolen from the shop, were subsequently arrested and conveyed to the Matura Police Station.

Investigations are continuing.
