Teens arrested after beating, robbing female bar patrons

Two teens have been arrested in Valsayn following the recovery of items stolen from two women at a bar in Piarco.

According to police reports, the two female victims reported to police that they were at a bar in St. Helena Village, Piarco, around 3pm on Saturday when the suspects, one armed with a gun, entered and announced a robbery.

The assailants then beat and robbed the women of a quantity of valuables, before escaping in a waiting vehicle.

A wireless transmission was issued and minutes later officers intercepted a silver Nissan B15 along the Southern Main Road, Valsayn, with the two suspects.

Officers searched the vehicle and recovered the items which were reported stolen.

The suspects, a 19-year-old from Tacarigua and an 18-year-old from Morvant were subsequently arrested.

Investigations are continuing.
