Parking restrictions on High Street lifted for Christmas Eve
Created : 21 December 2017
Parking regulations around the High Street Shopping District will be temporarily relaxed until December 24.
The announcement was made via a release from His Worship The Mayor Alderman Junia Regrello on Thursday.
In addition, temporary permission has been granted for the use of High Street as a pedestrian mall between Penitence Street and Short Street on Christmas Eve between the hours of 9AM and 5PM. The Gasparillo Taxi Stand will also be temporarily relocated from High Street to St. James street, between Mon Chagrin Street and Short Street.
Drivers and commuters are asked to be cognizant of these changes and adjust their routes to accommodate the street vendors of San Fernando to ply their trade during this Christmas Season.
Drivers and commuters are also asked to observe these changes and to use their discretion in parking to not inhibit the flow of traffic, block the driveways of business places and residences or to obstruct corners.
These changes are being made to facilitate both shoppers and business owners during the prime shopping period.
