Thieves go grocery shopping at accountant's home

Princes Town police are investigating an interesting report of larceny, where it appears that thieves broke into the home of a 41-year-old woman, and only took her groceries and alcohol.

The victim, an accountant from Manahambre Road, Princes Town, told police that she had secured her home around 1 pm on Sunday and went away.

When she returned at 4 pm on Monday, she discovered that the house was ransacked.

However, very few things were actually missing.

Checks revealed that grocery items together valued $200, a quantity of alcohol valued $700 and one lantern valued $100, missing.

The thieves gained access by prying open a door on the western side of the house.

Workable prints were found by a team of Crime Scene Investigators who visited the home.

Arrests are said to be imminent.

The case is puzzling to police, who noted that the thieves had access to other items of value, but only stole the aforementioned items.
