Thieves make off with over $10,000 in alcohol and cigarettes from bar

Police are investigating a report in which thieves broke into a bar in Morne Diablo and stole over $10,000 in alcohol and cigarettes, as well as packages of Play Whe forms.

Police were told that at about 10 pm on Saturday, the 56-year-old owner of the bar secured his premises along Quarry Road, Morne Diablo, and left.

Upon returning at about 8:30 am on Sunday, he observed that the building had been broken into.

Checks revealed that several items including a gallon of Hennessy, four bottles Johnny Walker, one bottle of double black Johnny Walker, one bottle of Hennessy White, and four gallons of puncheon, along with several other items were missing.

The thieves also made off with cartons of Mt Dor, Broadway, and Du Maurier.

Entry was gained by cutting through a burglar proofing on the northern side of the building.

Police are continuing inquiries.
