Western Division police are investigating a report in which over $50,000 in jewellery and valuables were stolen from the home of a 62-year-old man in Petit Valley.
The victim told police that on Wednesday morning he had secured his home and went away.
Upon returning later that day, he observed that his house had been ransacked.
A locked door, on the eastern side of his home, had been broken.
Checks were made and it was discovered that several items of value were missing, including one chain link gold wrist band valued $45,000, one pack of men’s cologne brand unknown valued $5000, one wallet valued $250, and US$21 in cash.
The police were notified and a team of officers from the Western Division, including PC Gabriel, PC Cadore, and WPC Jack, visited the scene.
PC Gabriel is continuing inquiries.
