Thieves take cigarettes, alcohol from Tobago restaurant
Fingerprints have been recovered from the scene of a robbery in Tobago in which bandits appeared to have broken into a restaurant and stole only cigarettes and alcohol.
The discovery was made at a restaurant and bar located along Speyside, Tobago, on Monday morning.
The owner of the establishment, a 60-year-old man, told police he returned to the business just before midday on Monday and observed that the place had been ransacked.
He observed a windowpane on the eastern side of the building had been pried open.
Curiously though, upon making an inventory check, he observed only cigarettes and alcohol had been taken.
The items missing included one pack of Du Maurier cigarettes, a half pack of Broadway cigarettes, bottles and nips of Forrest Park puncheon rum, one bottle of hard wine, one bottle of Banko wine, one bottle of Hennessy, and one bottle of Johnnie Walker.
The values of these items are to be ascertained.
The crime scene was visited by PC Quamina and several workable prints were found.
PC Francis is continuing enquiries.
More on this as it becomes available.
