Launch of Carnival 2019

Date: September 23

Venue: Queen’s Park Savannah

What: The NCC will officially launch Carnival from 4 pm to 11.30 pm with a procession from Memorial Park, Frederick Street, to the Grand Stand, Queen's Park Savannah. Bring the entire family and enjoy steel pan, stick fighters, pretty Mas, traditional Carnival characters and a Mega Concert.

 

Anansi and the Sky God

Date: September 23

Venue: Naparima Bowl, San Fernando

What: Anansi and the Sky God ‘is the widely known folk tale about how the African/Caribbean trickster spider Anansi got the Sky God Nyame to rename all the stories of the world after him. A hilarious, rib-tickling, theatrical journey as the creatures in the forest and the animals in the village try to keep pace with Anansi’s wily tricks.
