Police are expected to increase operations in Santa Cruz after gunshots were heard in the yet again last night near Moraldo Street.

This is the third time that officers of the area were called in after heavy gunfire was reported by residents of the community.

Police believe the shots fired are ‘gun salutes’ for Kareeba Lara who was shot dead on Tuesday morning in the community.

Lara, 29, of Donald Avenue, Santa Cruz, was found dead at 7am that day along Moraldo Trace.

Police still have no motive for this killing.
