Three charged with hanging dog plead not guilty, granted $15K bail

Three men were granted bail when they appeared in court on Wednesday charged with unlawfully killing a dog.

Twenty year-old Jelani Samuel, 24-year-old Ayinde Worrell and 32-year-old David Kingston, all of Embacadere appeared before San Fernando Magistrate Anselm Leander via video conferencing.

The men pleaded not guilty and were each granted $15,000 bail.

The matter was adjourned to May 13.

The three men were detained by police for questioning on Saturday, after a video went viral on social media showing one of the men hanging a dog from a tree.

Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith ordered the investigation after he saw the video.
