Three in court for stealing X-Trail in Chaguanas

Three men are expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate today on allegations of vehicular larceny.

The men were arrested moments after they robbed a 50-year-old man of his vehicle on Saturday night.

According to police reports, around 10 pm on Saturday, the victim was in the carpark of a supermarket along the Southern Main Road, Enterprise, when he was confronted by three men.

The men, announced a hold up, and robbed the 50-year-old of his Nissan X-Trail.

The police were notified and a party of officers from the Central Division, under the supervisions of Snr Supt Balram and ASP Richard Smith responded.

The officers received reliable intelligence which led them to Lange Park.

With the assistance of drone technology, the officers were able to identify the vehicle and intercept the car.

In the car were three men from Diego Martin, aged 18, 22, and 24.

The vehicle was searched, and a loaded pistol was found in the stolen car.

The three were immediately arrested as a result.

They were questioned and charged, and are expected to appear before the courts this morning.
