Three men arrested after robbing Haagen Dazs at Gulf City

Three men are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate, after they robbed the Haagen Dazs ice-cream outlet at Gulf City Mall in La Romaine.

The incident took place around 10:40 pm on Sunday.

The suspects are a 43-year-old man from Railway Reserve, Princes Town, a 22-year-old labourer from Mandingo Road, Princes Town and a 23-year-old labourer from Quinam Road, Siparia.

They were all held moments after the robbery with the stolen items.

A Ruger pistol loaded with three rounds of 9mm ammunition was also found and seized.

According to reports, three female employees were at the Haagen Dazs outlet when two armed men entered the establishment and announced a holdup.

They then proceeded to rob the women of their cash and valuables, including $9445 which represented the day’s sales at the business.

The men then escaped in a white Nissan B14 which was waiting on the duo.

The police were notified and a party of officers responded.

The officers intercepted a vehicle which matched the description of the getaway car along the San Fernando Bypass.

The vehicle and its occupants were searched and the officers found the stolen items, as well as the loaded firearm.

The two suspects were also positively identified by the victims.
