Tobago boy killed in Valencia accident
A six-year-old boy is dead following a motor vehicular accident on Sunday morning in Valencia.
The incident reportedly took place around 12:30 am on the morning of May 6 along the Eastern Main Road, Valencia, near the Turure Road Junction.
Six-year-old Daniel Black was in a vehicle with his family heading in an easterly direction towards Sangre Grande.
The family, LoopTT was told, is from Carnbee in Tobago, and came to Trinidad to attend a wedding.
After leaving the reception, they were in a rental Nissan Tiida motor vehicle which was proceeding in an easterly direction, when it came into contact with a Hyundai motor vehicle, which was proceeding in the opposite direction.
Young Daniel, and his four-year-old brother Levi Black, suffered extensive injuries in the accident.
Unfortunately, Daniel later succumbed to injuries sustained.
Levi Black is said to be warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in a critical condition.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as AJ Gajadhar from Garden Village, Arouca, reportedly suffered a “badly-broken” leg as a result of the accident.
The drivers of both vehicles are expected to be questioned by police this week for their roles in the accident.
