Tobago labourer charged for rape

A Tobago man charged with rape and false imprisonment is expected back in court later this month.

Norris Mills, 42, a labourer of Les Couteaux, appeared before Scarborough Magistrate Brian Debideen, charged with rape and false imprisonment of a 21-year-old woman, which occurred on August 22.

The accused was remanded into custody and the matter adjourned to September 24.

The 21-year-old victim reported to police she was in the company of a man known to her on the day of the assault.

She told police that they got into an argument and the man proceeded to sexually assault her.

The accused was arrested on August 24.

Charges were laid the following day by PC Adams of the Scarborough Police Station.
