A car crash along the Claude Noel Highway resulted in the first road death for 2019 in Tobago.
The deceased has been identified as Wayne Slater of Mount St George, Tobago.
Slater, police said, was a PH taxi driver.
According to police reports, around 1.43 am on Sunday, Slater was driving a silver AD wagon along the highway when, upon reaching nearing Auchenskeoch Buccoo Bay Road, he lost control of the car.
Slater, police said, he was thrown from the vehicle upon impact.
He succumbed to his injuries that morning.
Two other individuals who were in the car at the time, identified as Sharon Phillip and Wade Romeo, were rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital, where they were treated for injuries they sustained during the crash.
They are listed in a serious condition up to this morning.
