Miss Jamaica crowned Miss World 2019

With all the pomp and circumstance surrounding the 69th edition of the Miss World pageant, viewers in over 150 countries worldwide watched as Miss Jamaica World Toni-Ann Singh was crowned Miss World 2019.

The 23-year-old Bath, St Thomas native bested 110 competitors from around the world on Saturday at the ExCeL London convention centre in London, England.

Singh is the fourth Jamaican to be crowned Miss World and first since Lisa Hanna took home the title in 1993.

Miss Jamaica had stood out in the competition from day one, along with two other Caribbean beauties - Miss Guyana and Miss Trinidad and Tobago Tya Janè Ramey.

Ramey took home the Miss World Continental Queen title for the Caribbean. Earlier this week, she had placed first in her group in the pageant's Head to Head Challenge and advanced to the Top 40 based on her performance.
