The Trinidad and Tobago Incoming Tour Operators Association in conjunction with Tourism Trinidad is currently hosting a series of tours aimed at promoting domestic tourism.

Aside from contributing to the list of things to do for the July-August vacation, the tours will serve a multi-pronged function, according to Lorraine Pouchet, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Incoming Tour Operators Association.

The tours will allow nationals to see various sides of Trinidad that they probably never have before while creating employment for many in the tourism sector.

"With the economic situation, many people can't afford to travel, especially if they have more than one child...these tours allow them to holiday at home, be able to afford it, get to know their country and become ambassadors. That will then segue into encouraging others to come into Trinidad."

Running from Thursday, August 1 to Saturday, August 31, the 12 will appeal to a variety of interests, ranging from water and adventure, culture and history to foodie activities.

Some tours include:

  • Avocat Waterfalls & Rappel
  • Caroni Bird Sanctuary
  • Caroni Kayak
  • Chaguaramas/Glider Tour of Bamboo Cathedral/Fort George
  • DDI Cruise/Chacachacare
  • La Belle Paramin
  • Lopinot Cocoa Experience

As part of the promotion, a 20 per cent discount will be applied for the first hundred bookings. For more information and bookings, call 772-1899, 772-1902, 322-9480 or 324-4478. For updates, follow Experience T&T on Facebook and BookTrinidad on Instagram.
