Just a half hour of rain was enough to cause riverine and flash flooding in parts of Diego Martin after thundershowers in north-west Trinidad on Sunday.

Videos shared to social media showed heavy flooding along parts of the Diego Martin Highway, after heavy showers and thundershowers were reported around midday Sunday:

Some reported that the Diego Martin river had in fact burst its banks. Parts of Diamond Vale were also said to be under water.

Drivers are warned to stay away from flooded areas, and if encountering flood waters to turn around.
