Traffic alert: Temporary lane closures on the CRH from Thursday
Drivers are warned of temporary lane closures along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Curepe Intersection due to road works.
The Ministry of Works and Transport said in a statement issued Wednesday that the temporary lane works will take place along the west- and eastbound lanes of the highway from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm from July 4 to October 4, 2019, between Morequito Avenue (in the vicinity of Valpark Shopping Plaza) and the CRH/SMR (Curepe) Intersection.
In a statement issued Tuesday, NIDCO said the temporary closures will take place along the westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway as follows:
East-bound lanes: 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
West-bound lanes: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
The company assured the public that a minimum of two lanes of traffic will remain open to motorists in both directions along the highway at all times.
In light of this, drivers are asked to proceed with caution and comply with instructions issued by police officers on site to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
Drivers are also asked to observe all temporary directional signage provided on the approaches to the site and to reduce their speed upon approaching the work zone.
Drivers are also warned to be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site.
The company said all safety precautions are being taken to ensure proper health, safety and environmental standards are maintained.
NIDCO apologised for any inconvenience caused by this disruption.
