Traffic disruption at Cross Crossing, Gulf City intersection on Sunday
The Ministry of Works and Transport has advised that on Sunday 23 July there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Cross Crossing interchange and Gulf City intersection due to milling and paving works.
Please be advised that the following traffic restrictions will be in effect:
Gulf City intersection:
Sunday 23 July, 6 am to 1 pm
Sections of the intersection will be closed off in 5 – 10 minute intervals and traffic will be allowed to flow
Cross Crossing interchange:
Sunday 23 July, 11 am to 6 pm
Sunday 30 July, 6 am to 6 pm
During Phase 1 – traffic from the Connector Road wishing to access the interchange will be diverted left onto Piedmont Boulevard, then onto SS Erin Road via Dabideen Avenue. Traffic from SS Erin will be diverted onto the South Trunk Road (southbound) towards Gulf City Intersection.
During Phase 2 – traffic from the South Trunk Road (southbound) wishing to access the interchange will be directed on to the Connector Road. Traffic on the Connector Road will be directed onto Piedmont Boulevard then onto SS Erin Road via Dabideen Avenue on the left. Alternatively, traffic from the South Trunk Road (southbound) can continue to the Gulf City Intersection, turn right onto Fahey Street, then right onto Rahman Development and left onto Nicholas Antoine Avenue, onto Old Southern Main Road.
During Phase 3 – northbound traffic wishing to go east onto Connector Road can proceed onto Cirpero Street, turn right onto Rienzi Kirton Highway, left onto Balisier Avenue, left onto Chaconia Avenue then onto South Trunk Road (southbound), where they can take the first exit onto Connector Road.
During Phase 4 – traffic from the South Trunk Road (northbound), wishing to access San Fernando can turn left at Rushworth Street. Alternatively, they can turn right onto Chaconia Avenue (Pleasantville), then right onto Balisier Avenue, then right on Rienzi Kirton Highway. Traffic wishing to access the interchange can take Balisier Avenue and turn right onto the South Trunk Road (southbound) toward the interchange.
