Traffic heading west due to landslide near Big Yard, Carenage

Motorists heading to Carenage might be in for some traffic after reports of a landslide near Big Yard.

This was confirmed by Councillor for Carenage, Akeliah Glasgow.

Speaking with Loop TT on Monday evening, Glasgow said teams are currently on the scene removing the debris.

“It is being cleared at the moment. A chainsaw team is there, we also have the DMRC [sic Diego Martin Regional Corporation] on route and the Ministry of Works on route.”

She said at the moment, part of the roadway has been cleared so traffic has begun to move.

“It’s only one lane accessible for the moment so yes, people will be stuck in traffic for some time but people are able to pass, before it was not accessible,” she said.
