Traffic restrictions announced for Remembrance Day

Traffic restrictions will be in place on Sunday for the observance of National Day of Remembrance.

The restrictions will be in place from 6 am to 1 pm.

Parking prohibited

Drivers of motor vehicles shall not park on the following:

(a) Queen's Park West, between Queen's Park East and Dundonald Street;

(b) Queen's Park East;

(c) Keate Street, between Charlotte Street and Chancery Lane;

(d) Gordon Street, between Charlotte Street and Dundonald Street;

(e) Frederick Street, between Gordon Street and Queen's Park West;

(f) Abercromby Street, between Gordon Street and Keate Street;

(g) Pembroke Street, between Gordon Street and Keate Street;

(h) New Street, between Pembroke Street and Charlotte Street; (i) Chancery Lane; and

(j) Jerningham Avenue, between Queen's Park East and Norfolk Street.

Roads closed to vehicular traffic

Drivers of motor vehicles shall not proceed from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm on-

(a) Frederick Street, between Queen's Park West and Keate Street;

(b) Queen's Park West, between Queen's Park East and Frederick Street;

(c) Queen's Park East, between Jerningham Avenue and Queen's Park West;

(d) Charlotte Street, between Queen's Park West and Gordon Street;

(e) Keate Street, between Charlotte Street and Abercromby Street; and

(f) Pembroke Street, between Gordon Street and Keate Street.

Vehicular traffic diverted

From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon drivers of motor vehicles proceeding-(a) south on Queen's Park East shall turn east onto Jerningham Avenue;

(b) west on Jerningham Avenue, between Belmont Circular Road and Norfolk Street, shall turn north or south onto Norfolk Street;

(c) south on Archer Street shall turn east onto Jerningham Avenue; (d) north on Charlotte Street shall turn west onto Gordon Street; and (e) north on Henry Street shall turn east onto New Street or west onto Gordon Street.

One-way traffic

Drivers of motor vehicles shall proceed in an easterly direction only on Jerningham Avenue, between Queen's Park East and Norkfolk Street from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Removal and impounding of vehicles unlawfully parked

Without prejudice to any other liability incurred by the commission of a summary offence, vehicles found parked in contravention of this order may be removed by the Police and impounded and dealt with in accordance with section 108(1)(b) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
