Traffic restrictions in place for Independence Day Celebrations

Traffic restrictions for the 55th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations are in effect from 6 am on Thursday 31 August to 1 am on Friday 1 September.

Parking is prohibited from 6 am to 10 am on:

  • Queen’s Park West between Queen’s Park East and Cipriani Boulevard
  • Chancery Lane between Keate Street and Queen’s Park West
  • Dere Street
  • Albion Street
  • Gordon Street
  • Frederick Street between Queen’s Park West and Park Street

Parking is prohibited from 6 am to 11 am on:

  • Park Street, between Frederick Street and St Vincent Street

Parking is prohibited from 6 am to 12 noon on:

  • Western Main Road, from its junction with Tragarete Road and its junction with Long Circular Road
  • Tragarete Road

Parking is prohibited from 6 am to 3 pm on:

  • Long Circular Road between Western Main Road and Patna Street

Parking is prohibited from 12 noon on Thursday 31 August to 1 am on Friday 1 September on:

  • Queen’s Park West from Chancery Lane to St Clair Avenue
  • Maraval Road from St Clair Avenue to Saddle Road
  • Circular Road from Saddle Road to St Ann’s Road
  • Queen’s Park East from St Ann’s Road to Queen’s Park West
  • Charlotte Street from Queen’s Park West to New Street

Vehicular traffic is prohibited from 9 am to 10 am on:

  • Queen’s Park West between Queens Park East and Chancery Lane
  • Keate Street between Charlotte Street and Abercromby Street
  • Frederick Street between Queen’s Park West and Park Street
  • Pembroke Street between Keate Street and Gordon Street

Vehicular traffic is prohibited from 9 am to 11 am on:

  • Park Street between Henry Street and St Vincent Street

Vehicular traffic is prohibited from 9 am to 12 noon on:

  • Tragarete Road

Vehicular traffic is prohibited from 10 am to 12 noon on

  • Western Main Road, between Damian Street and Lucknow Street

Parking in Queen’s Park Savannah:

A driver of a motor vehicle may, from 6 am to 11 am, park the vehicle in the Queen’s Park Savannah, as directed by a police officer on duty

Removal and impounding of vehicles

Without prejudice to any other liability incurred by the commission of a summary offence, vehicles found parked in contravention of this Order may be removed by the Police Service and impounded and dealt with in accordance with section 108 (1) (b) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
