Tragedy as couple drowns in Blanchisseuse on Indian Arrival day

A couple drowned in Blanchisseuse on Indian Arrival Day.

They have been identified as 37-year-old Cliff Walker of Cocoyea and 52-year-old Cindy Liloutee Bagwandeen of Ste. Madeleine.

According to reports, Walker and Bagwandeen were bathing at the beach around 1:45 pm when they got into difficulties.

They were pulled out of the waters by villagers, however they were unable to resuscitate them.

Autopsies were expected to be carried out on Friday.
