Transit officer beaten, robbed of $300
A transit officer with the Vehicle Management Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (VMCOTT) remains in serious condition after being tied up and thrown out of a vehicle.
According to reports, the 33-year-old officer was beaten and robbed just before 9pm on Friday.
His attackers grabbed him as he was walking along the Eastern Main Road, Curepe.
Beaten and robbed of $300, the attackers placed a plastic bag over his head which they secured around his neck with a tie strap. They also used his own handcuffs to restrain his hands, and tie straps on his feet.
The attackers then threw him out of the car, where he remained until he was found by colleagues.
He was found along the Solomon Hochoy Highway around 3.45 am yesterday. He was taken to hospital where he remains warded in serious condition.
