Trial date set for Inspector Roger Alexander
October 18 has been set as the trial date for former Beyond The Tape co-host Inspector Roger Alexander.
Alexander, along with PC Sheldon Mires, both have a matter before acting deputy Chief Magistrate Nanette Forde John which stems from allegations of assault.
The State is being represented by Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Angelica Teelucksingh-Ramoutar, as well as senior attorney Mauricia Joseph.
Alexander is being represented by the legal team of Senior Counsel Gilbert Peterson and attorney Lee Merry while Mires is being represented by defence attorney John Heath.
The matter was recalled yesterday before the Port of Spain Magistrates' court.
At the next hearing Christopher Charles, the man Alexander and Mires are accused of assaulting, is expected to appear before the courts.
The allegations stem from an incident in July 2016 in Santa Cruz where Charles claims he was assaulted by the two officers.
More on this as it becomes available.
