Trial for former crime show host set for September

The trial involving Inspector Roger Alexander and PC Sheldon Mires on allegations of assault is expected to begin on September 5.

The matter was called yesterday before Senior Magistrate Nannette Forde John.

Alexander was represented by attorneys Gilbert Peterson and Lee Merry.

Mires is being represented by attorney John Heath.

The State is being represented by Angelica Teelucksingh-Ramoutar and Mauricia Joseph.

The incident is said to have occurred on July 12, 2016, in Santa Cruz.

Alexander is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Christopher Charles, while Mires is charged with common assault, and assault by beating.
