Here's a look at today's weather, courtesy the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service:
Some early morning showers would give way to mostly sunny and breezy conditions despite isolated afternoon showers.
Tonight would be partly cloudy with a light breeze.
Seas are moderate but rough in the Leewards with waves from two to 2.5 metres and up to 3.5 metres in the Leewards in open waters, and from one to 1.5 metres in sheltered areas.
Long period swells continue to affect northern coastlines:
Reports to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) indicate that long-period swells continue to affect northern coastlines of Trinidad and Tobago but to a lesser degree.
These swells are forecast to continue affecting particularly northern coastlines for at least the next 72 hours. The general sea state is currently moderate.
The effects of these swells are in the form of large breaking waves along nearshore areas and will be more evident at high tide. Fisher folk and citizens, particular those residing along coastal areas, are asked to remain alert. All necessary measures MUST be taken to preserve life and property.
SMALL CRAFT OPERATORS AND ALL OTHER MARINE INTERESTS ARE ADVISED TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION IN ANY SEA RELATED ACTIVITY.
The TTMS is closely monitoring this swell event and will issue an update as the situation warrants.
