Trinidad & Tobago’s weather: High Saharan Dust levels

Carnival crowds are being warned to prepare for high concentrations of Saharan Dust on Tuesday.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service said in its 6.00 am weather update that there is a high level of Saharan dust present:

“High concentrations of Saharan dust are present in the atmosphere. Persons with respiratory ailments are advised to take the necessary precautions.”

The Met Office said a generally sunny and hazy day is forecast, despite one or two brief showery interruptions.  A hazy and warm night is expected.

Seas are moderate with waves up to two metres in open waters and below one metre in sheltered areas.
