Trinidadian attorney found guilty of assault
A Port of Spain attorney was found guilty of assault on Thursday.
According to reports, attorney Justin Phelps appeared before magistrate Aden Stroude in the Port of Spain Magistrate’s Court on Thursday to answer the charge of common assault against Annalisa Smith and Giles Leung.
Phelps was found guilty of assaulting Leung and was also found guilty of damaging a pair of glasses.
The incident took place at Primrose Gardens, St Ann’s, in 2014.
Phelps, however, was not found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Annalisa Smith.
He will be sentenced on October 19.
Phelps is listed as an 'RLC External Expert - Dispute Resolution Practice' with Rose Law Caribbean.
