Trinity Cathedral remains closed after 6.9 quake

The Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity will remain closed until further notice as assessments on the entire building continue.

The building sustained damage following a magnitude 6.9 earthquake on Tuesday.

Week day services resumed on Friday morning in the Garden of Peace, located at the eastern end of the Church compound.

Weekday morning services, midday services on Wednesdays and Fridays, Saturday services at 5pm and Sunday morning services at 6am will all take place in the Garden of Peace.

Sunday morning 8am services will take place at the City Hall Chamber Room on the second floor.

Meanwhile, requests for funerals and other services will be accommodated by All Saints’, Newtown;  St Agnes, St James and St. Matthias, Laventille, in the first instance.

The Church advises that contributions can be made to the Relief and Restoration effort at FCB Account #1841216.

Visitors to the compound are advised to exercise extreme caution, particularly around the cordoned off areas.

The Cathedral Office, however, will be open as usual.
