Tru Valu Supermarkets said several positive COVID-19 cases were discovered at its Valpark Store.

In a statement yesterday, the company said all employees of the ValPark branch have been sent home to quarantine:

‘Tru Valu Supermarkets has embarked on immediate, aggressive and corrective measures in light of the discovery of positive COVID-19 cases at our ValPark Store location. All employees of the ValPark branch have been sent home with mandatory quarantine procedures in place.’

The company said sanitisation of the branch has been done and staff reassigned to this location, which remains open for business:

‘To continue serving the community we have reassigned employees from our other stores to keep our ValPark Store open…our store has been completely disinfected, with total sanitisation of public as well as employee areas and customer touch points.'

‘We will continue to engage in in-depth sanitization measures and have adapted our hours in the interim.’

The company thanked the public for their understanding.
