Update: Met Office discontinues Weather Alert

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has downgraded its weather alert to green. 

The Met Office said the threat of significant impact has passed.

However, the Met Office said a few intervals of showers and the possibility of the isolated thunderstorm remains in the forecast, especially for Tobago and the Northern half of Trinidad

On Friday, the Met Office issued an Adverse Weather Alert-Yellow Level.

It was expected to be in effect from 4 am to 12 pm on Saturday.

The Met Office said periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms were likely.

Street or flash flooding and landslips may occur in areas that are susceptible and it is also likely for winds to gust in excess of 55km/hr.
