Trinidad and Tobago is saying goodbye to 36 years of news and entertainment with the closure of the TnT Mirror newspaper.
The bi-weekly paper issued its final publication, the weekend edition, on Thursday.
The TnT Mirror was founded by Patrick Chookolingo in 1982, 16 years after the closure of the Daily Mirror.
Chookolingo's daughter, Dawn Ford, said the paper was closed due to financial and economic burdens.
In a column headlined, ‘Goodbye T&T', Errol Pilgrim said, "Today, we see goodbye to TT in this our final issue of the Mirror and express our sincere thanks and deep gratitude to those of you in the national community who identified with the challenging commitment of this newspaper to stimulate your thoughts and inform your opinions purely in the national interest."
