Trinidad and Tobago will benefit from Canada's assistance to transform the public service through the restructuring of the public service commissions.

This was decided during a courtesy call on Friday between Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and Canadian High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago, Carla Hogan Rufelds.

During the discussions, both parties acknowledged the deep history of cooperation and friendship between Trinidad and Tobago and Canada and agreed to continue strengthening this relationship.

Other areas identified for continued partnership include education, information and communications technology and renewable energy.

Dr Rowley also invited Canada to expand on its significant role in the region.

Foreign Affairs Minister Dennis Moses and Political Officer at the Canadian High Commission, Pamela Greenwell also attended the meeting.
