The Ministry of Sport and Community has congratulated national netball player Samantha Wallace on becoming the first Trinbagonian and third player in the history of the Suncorp Super Netball league to surpass the 2000-goal milestone.

Wallace went past the landmark on the weekend while playing in Australia for the New South Wales Swifts against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.

A release from the Ministry of Sport and Community stated: “Trinidad and Tobago is very proud of her and wishes her continued success.”

The NSW Swifts beat the Thunderbirds 57-54 at the Cairns POP Up Arena on Saturday and have qualified for the Top Four of the tournament.

The Swifts are the defending champions and their win kept alive their chances of repeating as Super Netball champs.
