T&T, US to strengthen bilateral relations

Trinidad and Tobago and the United States are seeking to strengthen bilateral relations.

This was expressed during a meeting between Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Minister Dennis Moses and Bradley Freden, Director of the Office of Caribbean Affairs, Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs of the United States Department of State. The meeting occurred at the Ministry on November 14.

According to a statement from the Ministry, discussions were cordial and included enhancing cooperation activities as well as areas for continued collaboration, particularly in the fields of security, the fight against drugs and the arms trade. The meeting ended with both parties affirming their commitment to furthering cooperation in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of both countries.

Freden was accompanied to the meeting by Dexter Payne, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy and Jason Hammontree, Political Officer, of the US Embassy.
