T&TEC restores 98% connection after 6.9 earthquake
The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is seeking to advise members of the public that it has restored supply to 98 percent of customers across the country including Port-of-Spain to Chaguaramas, Sangre Grande, Toco, Santa Cruz, Cascade, Maracas and related neighbouring communities.
The announcement comes hours after a 6.9 magnitude earthquake rocked T&T from coast to coast.
According to a statement, T&TEC says it is continuing to receive reports of small pockets of individuals and/or streets that may still be out of electricity in various areas.
The commision says this will require site visits by the company's emergency crews to treat with each report.
"We are working as quickly as we can to restore these customers and ask that people continue to exercise patience as we work," the statement said.
Individual reports should be made to 800 BULB.
