T&TEC upgrades to cause traffic disruptions in PoS until October
Motorists in the capital city can expect “momentary” traffic disruptions from next Monday into mid-October as the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) conducts underground works to improve the supply of electricity to the north western part of Trinidad.
T&TEC says the works are necessary to improve the reliability and capacity of the subtransmission system which supplies electricity to Port of Spain and environs.
The disruption will take place along the westbound lane of Wrightson Road, from the Port of Spain ferry terminal to the Wrightson Road Substation, including Dock Road and the Port Authority Compound.
The left lane and shoulder will be affected.
The disruption begins September 17 and ends October 15. Work will be carried out between 7 am and 5 pm on weekdays and on a 24 hour basis on weekends.
Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and comply with instructions from police officers on site during the “momentary” interruptions of the free flow of traffic during the period of the works.
