TTIT: Dry docking for MV Cabo Star may be extended
The Inter-Island Transportation Co Ltd (TTIT) is advising members of the public that drydocking of the MV Cabo Star may be extended due to unfinished works.
According to a statement, all major works relating to the engine’s overall and the interior passenger upgrades have been completed.
The only outstanding are the painting works which have been temporarily halted due to heavy rainfall throughout the country.
The release noted that it is critical to carry out the underwater hull works at the drydock facility and to chemically treat and paint the vessel to prevent sea growth that may hinder the vessel’s performance.
The TTIT acknowledged that the Meteorological Office advised of adverse weather conditions due to Tropical Storm Kirk. It said the situation will be monitored closely as it can impact the time spent by the MV Cabo Star on the drydock.
At this time, the Management has been advised that an additional day at the drydock may become necessary to complete painting works.
Should the drydocking period be extended the following contingency measure in place will continue:
- Vehicles up to 7000 kgs. would be accommodated on the T&T Spirit during the period of the dry-docking.
