TTOC extends condolences on passing of former TT athlete Pernell Bruno

The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) has extended sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Barataria Councillor Pernell Bruno.
According to a statement from TTOC President Brian Lewis on Tuesday, Bruno represented Trinidad and Tobago at the CARIFTA and CAC Games games in athletics and earned an athletic scholarship to attend Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
"His passion, dedication, and commitment for the betterment of his community and country; his ethos of selfless service and his deep desire and resolute vision for a better Trinidad and Tobago stood out. His resolute faith and confidence of the power of sport to make a positive difference in the lives of the youth of the nation was unwavering and an inspiration.
Mr. Bruno's passing is a tremendous loss to Trinidad and Tobago," said Lewis.
The PNM Councillor for Barataria passed away on July 8 after a brief battle with cancer.
