Police will get more assistance in catching speeding drivers with the addition of nine more speed guns.
The Ministry of Works and Transport said in a statement that Minister Rohan Sinanan signed an order for the use of nine more LIDAR speed guns on Friday, November 17.
This brings the number of guns in use by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) to 15.
The Ministry said these speed guns will be put into immediate use.
The Ministry added that the general public will be kept updated on the implementation of several key road safety initiatives all geared towards supporting the Ministry’s continued effort to ensure compliance with the country’s speed limit and traffic laws.
