Tunapuna man held for questioning about Tobago port bomb threat

Police have detained a 43-year-old man for questioning on investigations into a bomb threat which was called in on Monday morning at the Scarborough Port.

The suspect is from Tunapuna.

He was held on Thursday during a joint police exercise by officers of the Northern Division and the Tobago Division under the supervision of ACP Rajkumar.

Police have credible intelligence that the call which port officials received came from the suspect’s phone.

However, they are trying to verify what was said on the call.

Port officials told police they received a bomb threat.

The 43-year-old has denied ever threatening anyone and told investigators that he was simply trying to change his ticket following a spat with a woman close to him.
