TV host charged with assault
A television personality was expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Tuesday on allegations of assault.
Officers of the Chaguanas Police Station contacted the individual this morning and indicated that he would have to present himself to the police for official charges to be laid.
It was said that officials at the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions gave instructions on Monday for a team of officers, under the supervision of Snr Sup McIntyre and ASP Smith, to charge the television host with the offences of common assault and using a firearm to endanger life.
The allegations are said to have stemmed following an incident earlier this year at the ASJA complex in Charlieville in which the individual is alleged to have pointed his licensed firearm at a man during an altercation.
More on this as it becomes available.
