Updated: Bodies found in Sangre Grande, Gran Couva
The bodies of two persons were found Monday morning in Vega de Oropouche, Sangre Grande.
While information is still coming in, from first details – subject to further updates – the deceased are a man and a woman.
From initial information the bodies were discovered around 8.20 am in a squatter community.
The two bodies bore marks of violence.
A team of officers from the Eastern Division and the Homicide Bureau, under the supervision of Snr Sup Belfon, are currently on location.
Police are still in the process of determining the circumstances which led to the deaths.
Meanwhile, police are currently responding to a report that the body of a man was found in Gran Couva this morning.
The deceased is believed to be a 49-year-old man of McDonald Bailey Drive, Marabella.
While police believe they have confirmed the identity of the deceased, it has yet to be confirmed if his relatives have been notified, so this information is being withheld.
The deceased’s body was found around 10 am today at Belmontes Road, Gran Couva.
The body bore a wound, however, police are not yet certain what may have caused it.
An autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
