Two men are expected to appear before a Mayaro Magistrate charged with the murder of Daud Abdullah and the shooting of his girlfriend on February 6, 2014.
The two were charged following a breakthrough in the case by the Homicide Bureau of Investigation.
Bevon Williams, aka “Bingi”, 37, a welder of Manzanilla Road, Mayaro, and Densil Francis, aka “Blow”, 45, of corner Ferriera Lane and Guayaguayare Road, Mayaro, were also charged with possession of firearm and ammunition.
The charges were laid after advice was received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard on Saturday.
Abdullah, 33, of New Lands Village, Guayaguayare, was at his girlfriend’s La Savanne Circular home February 6, 2014, when armed assailants entered the house and shot at them.
The victim was hit several times and died at the scene, while his girlfriend was rushed to hospital nursing gunshot wounds.
Williams and Francis were charged by PC Adrian Hercules of the Homicide Bureau on Sunday.
