Two in court for PH driver's murder

Two men appeared before a Scarborough Magistrate on Tuesday charged with the October 31 murder of Dave Vincent.

Terrence Paul, 38, a rigger, of Bando Trace, Claxton Bay and Shameal Mohammed-Ali, 34, a labourer, of Roping Road, Carapichaima, appeared before Magistrate Alexander Prince, in the Scarborough 2nd Magistrates’ Court to answer to the charge.

Vincent, 56, a PH taxi driver from San Fernando who lived at Les Coteaux, Tobago, was found slumped over the steering wheel in his vehicle, along Golden Grove Road, Buccoo, on October 31. He had been shot several times.

He was a person of interest to homicide detectives in Trinidad, for a 2014 homicide, which is actively being investigated.

Paul and Mohammed-Ali were charged by Cpl Guy Burt of Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 1 on Monday following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard the same day.

The matter was adjourned to December 5.
